Whether you’re managing hip osteoarthritis, knee osteoarthritis or looking to prevent further joint issues, our small-group classes provide personalised care in a safe, supportive environment. Take control of your joint health and feel confident moving again.

What is Osteoarthritis?

OA is a joint condition that occurs when the body experiences cumulative micro and macro injuries. This leads to harmful repair responses and inflammation. Initially, there are changes at the molecular level, such as abnormal joint tissue metabolism, followed by physical changes such as cartilage breakdown, changes in bone shape, bone spur formation, joint inflammation, and loss of normal joint function. It is common in individuals aged 65 and older, but can also affect individuals as young as 30 years old.

OA Treatment

The Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) has developed guidelines for patient-centered treatment recommendations for those with knee, hip, and polyarticular OA, which are based on expert consensus and a thorough review of high quality meta analytic data. Structured land based exercise programs and dietary weight management are considered effective and safe first line treatment options for hip and knee OA.

This session includes a thorough assessment and baseline testing to personalise your program and ensure the best outcomes for your hip and knee health. You don’t need a referral from your doctor to book an appointment. However, in some cases, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if your GP provides an appropriate referral under a care plan.

Small Classes To Give You Individualised Support

During our Hip & Knee Exercise Class, everyone completes the same core set of evidence-based exercises designed to improve joint strength, mobility and function. However, our experienced physiotherapists carefully tailor each exercise to suit your individual condition, needs and goals ensuring you get the most out of every session.
