At Restore Function Physiotherapy in Greenslopes, Brisbane we are passionate about supporting mothers throughout every stage of pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Over the past 10 years, we’ve recognised a significant gap in support for mothers in Brisbane seeking quality care before and after giving birth. That’s why we’ve worked hard to build a dedicated women’s health physiotherapy service, complete with private spaces designed to provide comfort and personalised support for mothers at every stage.
Our team offers one-on-one pregnancy physiotherapy and postnatal physiotherapy to help manage pain, improve mobility and address common concerns such as pelvic girdle pain, back pain and abdominal separation (diastasis recti).
In addition to individual care, we provide specialised exercise classes tailored for mothers designed to safely rebuild strength, improve pelvic floor function and support overall wellbeing. Whether you’re preparing for childbirth, recovering postnatally or returning to exercise with confidence, our experienced physiotherapists are here to guide you every step of the way.

On our blog we share regular updates on common symptoms, treatments and prevention that can help you reach your goals sooner.

General physiotherapy is a non-surgical therapy treating a wide variety of injuries and symptoms, including post surgical rehabilitation, fractures and of course sport related injuries.
A women’s health physiotherapist requires not only additional training, qualifications and expertise but thoughtful and respectful treatment plans specifically designed for women that suffer from a wide range of sensitive health concerns. Including, but not limited to; incontinence, prenatal and postpartum rehabilitation, mastitis, vaginal prolapse, pain with intercourse and the list continues.
Our clinic not only focuses on supporting women who need treatment, but also preventative education for the many changes we experience as women through different stages of our lives.
During your initial appointment, our experienced women’s health physiotherapists will take the time to listen to your concerns, explore your medical history and understand any symptoms or conditions that may be contributing to your current health.
Your personalised assessment may include hands-on techniques and specialised clinical treatments. When appropriate, this can involve an internal examination or the use of real-time ultrasound. Both of which are performed in the comfort and privacy of our clinic to guide your care.
Together, we’ll develop a tailored treatment plan designed to support your recovery and long-term wellbeing. This may include follow-up physiotherapy sessions, a home exercise program, referral to trusted specialists and recommendations for our clinical pilates classes, which can help strengthen your pelvic floor and improve overall function.
An initial Women’s Health physiotherapy appointment is 60 minutes, allowing plenty of time for a thorough assessment, discussion of your concerns and a tailored treatment plan. Follow-up appointments are typically 30 minutes, although your physiotherapist may recommend a 45-minute session if additional time is needed to best support your care.
If you have your period at the time of your scheduled appointment and you feel comfortable to proceed, please know that our Women’s Health physiotherapists are also comfortable to continue with your treatment. This includes internal examinations where appropriate. Your period makes no difference to the quality or outcome of your care.
However, if you’d prefer to wait until your period has finished, that’s absolutely fine too. We’re happy to reschedule your appointment to a time that suits you best. Simply give us a call.
Yes. A pessary fitting requires a dedicated 45-minute appointment with one of our experienced Women’s Health Physiotherapists. In addition to the appointment fee, there is a one-time pessary fitting fee of $100, which covers the cost of the pessary (or pessaries) provided during your fitting.
If multiple fittings or adjustments are needed to ensure the best fit and comfort, rest assured there is no additional charge beyond this initial fitting fee.
For a postpartum review that involves an internal examination, we recommend booking once you are at least six weeks post-birth to allow adequate healing.
However, if you have concerns earlier, such as abdominal separation (diastasis recti), back pain, pelvic pain or any other postpartum issue, our Women’s Health Physiotherapists are here to support you. You’re welcome to book an appointment as soon as needed for assessment, advice and early management.
